Recently got myself a "new range" i5 27" imac. As well as many other people i was more than pleased to see Counter Strike: Source had been released for Mac the other day.

The game runs fine, with fps being well over 100+ with most settings on high. Unfortunately I'm getting massive screen tear, which is preventing the game from otherwise running silky smooth. Turning on vsync doesn't help too much either, delaying the mouse and keyboard input so much it renders the game unplayable. I've done my homework on why screen tear happens but don't know what to do.

Is anyone else having this issue? Can anyone help?

    Many Thanks

Basically when moving and looking around with the mouse, the screen displays a 'tearing effect'. This happens when the game is putting out more frames per second than the monitor displays. When a game inputs a frame in between the monitors refresh rate you see a tearing. Happens in a lot of console games on LCD's too but I'm having it quite bad on the beautiful 27" display which is a shame. Games have a feature called "vsync" which limit the games frame rate to correspond with the monitors refresh rate to eliminate screen tear. But in my case Counter Strikes vsync isn't helping and im still seeing tears.

I am a first time mac user and would appreciate any input you guys have.

    Thanks.
