Hi guys,

I have few questions. I run a 27 iMac on 10.11.1. It has a 2,7 GHz Intel Core i5.
I have a question about temperatures. I am playing games on my iMac a lot.
Sometimes when I play Runescape or HotS, the temperatures are bit high and fans are bit loud.
It takes some time to cool system down. I know its a old iMac but I love it.
I have never cleaned him. Should I? and if how so?

The tempetures are:
HD: 56 C
CPU: 50 C
Ambient 34 C
GPU: 70 - 72 C when gaming after its about 60 C
Mem Controller: 56 C
Optical Drive: 52 C
Power supply 2: 69 C

And the CPU fans are usually about 2000 - 3200 rpm (when runescaping)
The others are 900-1100 rpm
Can I do something?

Thanks for the answer.

Games cause hot, and there's really nothing you can do about it. You're pushing the CPU/GPU to the point where the fans try to keep up and given the thin/closed design of the iMac it struggles.

Those temperatures are actually pretty low, especially compared to what a notebook can get to. There is not a lot you can do, as you say giving it a clean out may well help and new thermal paste won't hurt either but thats not a job I would relish on an imac.
