Hi,

New to the boards. I just swapped out my Fusion Drive with a brand new SSD. Everything is working smoothly but I discovered some say I should put in a Temp Sensor. Others say it's not necessary and I could just download software instead.

What is the best action to take with this? I don't want to buy something if it's unnecessary for my machine.

Btw, with the new SSD my Machine really flies like, even better than when I first bought it and I only have 8 gigs of RAM in the machine.

The thermal sensor is built into the SSD itself and is not necessary. Exception-if You installed an SSD and the fans are not working properly, then Yes, you need to install a thermal sensor.
8GB of memory is extremely small. And 64GB of memory is not enough when working in heavy applications

Thank you for this! It's been blowing, not noisily but working fine from what I can tell.

Unfortunately, the RAM on this machine maxes out at 32 gigs. it's doing amazing on 8 gigs, I've ordered new RAM to replace the old ones.

You're welcome!
If you are concerned about excessive noise, you can use the free program Macs Fan Control and adjust the fan speed, controlling the temperature under load using the program "hwmonitor"
If the computer is noisy against the background of room noise, this is a reason to replace the thermal paste.
32Gb -better than 8 :) You will be able to work almost comfortably in most programs.
And what RAM memory did you order?
If there is not enough power, you can overclock it
