hi

i looked at this picture closely

http://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/EWoEMljFPRkHjRLU

I see that the stand is attached on the edge

in the version 2011 it is attached to the top of the stand

so if i do the modification, i must cut out the aluminium to to join with the vesa mount that is sold currently.

Anybody have the idea how to attach the vesa imac to the imac using what?

i want to mount vesa on to the imac please

thanks I hope this is a good question, i got a certified guy who can strip the mac and put it back no worries

As far as I'm aware current iMac models have a VESA mount

And if they're not equipped I thought you could buy it after the fact

Edit: here's the Amazon link for the adapter

That VESA adapter cannot work on the newer (thin) iMacs. The VESA mount is a factory mod, and can't be added (at least not in any normal way) That model doesn't even come with the normal "foot"/stand.

@ appleluck - I "think" that the back cover for the iMac is different from the back cover for the VESA model, and not just the addition of a VESA adapter. Of course, the accessory VESA mount that you can purchase from Apple won't work on the newer iMacs. That's the reason there's separate VESA iMac models for sale.
