    hi

i looked at this picture closely

    http://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/EWoEMljFPRkHjRLU

I see that the stand is attached on the edge

in the version 2011 it is attached to the top of the stand

so if i do the modification, i must cut out the aluminium to to join with the vesa mount that is sold currently.

Anybody have the idea how to attach the vesa imac to the imac using what?

i want to mount vesa on to the imac please

thanks I hope this is a good question, i got a certified guy who can strip the mac and put it back no worries

What exactly are you looking to do, your post is a bit disjointed in its composition, so its difficult to discern what question you're asking for what purpose.

That VESA adapter cannot work on the newer (thin) iMacs. The VESA mount is a factory mod, and can't be added (at least not in any normal way) That model doesn't even come with the normal "foot"/stand.

@ appleluck - I "think" that the back cover for the iMac is different from the back cover for the VESA model, and not just the addition of a VESA adapter. Of course, the accessory VESA mount that you can purchase from Apple won't work on the newer iMacs. That's the reason there's separate VESA iMac models for sale.

Thanks for the clarification, I was unaware of that little tidbit.

There are a few solutions out there that adapt the iMac stand itself to be wall mountable.

    Here is one:

This may be a better solution for you than trying to adapt the machine internally.

Or you could buy a replacement VESA case for the 2013 iMac perhaps?
