Hey forum,

I just received my iMac 27" late 2015. I was wondering what kind of software you install on yours for photography, video editing & HTML development. In addition what kind of hardware do you use for your iMacs?

Currently I am using Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop/Illustrator for web design and logo development. Also I use Premier Pro. Any suggestions to what else I can apply to make editing easier?

Thanks in advance!

Adobe's creative suite for most of your image editing needs.

If you're only doing photography, you may not need the full Creative Cloud suite (that includes Premier Pro, After Effects, etc.) The Creative Cloud Photography plan for $10 a month might be the better choice. There are also other non-subscription image editors that may better suite your needs.

The Adobe creative suite is expensive, long-term-pay-monthly software. And when you stop paying, it doesn't work anymore.

I would NEVER buy ANY software that worked this way, unless I was a creative professional who needed it for work (I'm not one of those types). But that's just me.

There are several "emerging alternatives" to the Adobe pay-for-play scheme.
I would look at those first, to see if they could fill your needs.

Even Apple's older iPhoto and Aperture apps still work ok with El Capitan.
No promises that they will KEEP working in the future, but at least they work now.

My opinion only.
Others will disagree.
Some will disagree vehemently.

Down to personal preference and budget available.
Final Cut Pro for video. Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer for photo and graphics.
