Imac 27" (mid 2011) + gaming results

    Here's some facts I've managed to gather for those, who's interested in knowing how the performance is gaming wise. I've done the test on the demanding game "Battlefield 3" running FRAPS with different settings.

    BATTLEFIELD 3 gameplay (Caspian boarder - multiplayer with 48 players)

    System info: Imac 27" (mid 2011: i5 3,1ghz, 1gb 6970m, 8gb 1333mhz Ram, 1tb hdd)

    Overclocking values: 870/1100

    Temps: 74-78* MAX

    Fan speeds: 2400/3400/2300 (still very silent - the frigde or TV is louder... just as a reference)

    Thanks for posting results, but please don't call the current model a 2012 iMac. No matter what year you bought it in, it's the mid-2011 model.

    Those are very impressive results. Battlefield is a quite demanding game actually.

    Nice results!

    HD textures is only for xbox 360 i believe. :)

    Oh is it? Just as well I have Xbox, but I don't see why HD textures cannot be installed for BF3 for PC

    HD textures pack i only for consoles - I think!

    On the PC version the textures are already in 'HD'.

    I believe that the consoles had this information as an optional install due to the fact that if they were uncompressed they would not fit on the Xbox's Dual-layer DVDs.

    Those are good results. I sold my 2010 iMac that I used exclusively to play BF3. I really miss that game but I never had free time with it. It was a great game once you level up and have decent guns that actually work.

    And forget Crysis.... Grand Theft Auto IV was also a demanding game. How does the iMac 2011 do with that game?

    I'm assuming this is tested using Bootcamp. Is that correct?
