Hello Everyone.
When a new iMac ships, is the stand attached to the monitor or are they separated? And once the stand is attached, what is the procedure to disconnect the stand? Thanks for the help, d.

Sorry, wrong forum, my mistake.

Further to the previous answer:

If it helps you can order the iMac with a standard "VESA" mount in place of the stand. Usually used with wall mounts, articulated arms, multi-display stands etc. NB: with the regular iMac this has to be ordered when you buy the machine, can't be added later, and means that you don't get a stand at all.

For the iMac Pro (not the regular iMac) you can get a fit-it-yourself VESA mount for some extortionate amount of money. Sounds like its a one-way street, though: https://www.macrumors.com/2018/05/28/snazzy-labs-imac-pro-vesa-adapter-broke/
