The 27" and 21.5" iMac both have four RAM slots, and with 8GB modules of DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMM RAM you could get 32GB of RAM in the 2010 and 2011 models, the 2009 models support at least 16GB.

Check what Mac you have and look at www.everymac.com, if your Mac supports 32GB RAM, though it will cost at least 600 USD to have that much RAM.

Yes you can (supposing you use Nehalem or Sandy Bridge CPU with built-in memory controller). Core2Duo iMacs doesn't support 8GB as far as I know.

But will an quad core i7 handle 32gb or is it just too much?
Or is 16GB better?
Best regards

There is almost never too much RAM, and a 2011 or 2010 iMac with a quad core CPU will be able to handle 32 GB RAM, as noted before. The more important question is: DO YOU NEED 32 GB RAM? Because from the sound of it, you don't.

Btw, putting your YouTube channel link in every post seems like spamming, maybe use the SIGNATURE function via USER CP?
