iMac 56k external modem

does anyone know if the min usb modem will work with older g3/g4 towers that the 56k wasnt a on board option? ihave a old g4 500 i wanna use it with just curious if it would work.

I think it would be worth it to just buy a cheap PCI 56k modem and stick it in your tower.
