Hello. I'm going to but a new iMac. I can't decide between:

i5, 512 ssd, 16gb ram, radeon pro 560x, 4K 21.5 inches iMac vs

i5, 512 ssd, 8gb ram(buy later myself), radeon 570x, 5K 27 inches iMac

They are about the same price. 5k has configurable ram and better graphics card. But also has bigger 5K screen and I'm not sure this graphics card is able to support that 5K screen. Have anyone here used a 2017 imac 5k with 570? Was that ok?

This is going to be my everyday computer. Also I'll be using it for music production and some lightweight animation/video editing. And I would love to do a little bit gaming on it occasionally. What do you think?

I have the 21.5 as configured above and it's great. But more screen real-estate is preferable to most. The 570 is probably fine for what you want. But I'll let others weigh in here on that.

About the only reasons I'd go for the 21.5" version before the 27" version is size (the 27" is just too big for my space), or buying a relatively inexpensive (I'd never buy the cheapest one) 21.5" to meet modest needs. I wouldn't worry about the 570x driving the monitor. Lots of folks have that set up from the 2017 iMacs and I've never read that to be a problem. Now, don't expect it to provide wonderful game experience, but the 21.5" isn't going to do that either. The 27" 5k monitor is really nice.
