    Hello
I have an imac 8.1 24 "early 2008 with a defective 8800gs, I purchased a nvidia fx3600m, I flashed with nvflash and this rom files (http://gilles.aurejac.free.fr/imac_mxm/8800gs-imac81.rom.zip), but can not start imac with nvidia drivers. then I turned off the GPU drivers and then reactivated, everything works well except QuartzGL and OpenGL. My graphics card is recognized by OS 10.7.5 as an Apple 8800gs, including the AHT that recognizes no problem, but it is not by OpenGL Extension Viewer app.
Would you have some solutions for my problem ?
    Thanking you in advance
    Regards

Hi, we got your email but better if you make your problem and (hopeful) solution public.

First up, why & how did you flash a FX3600M with a 8800GS rom?

Is there a page somewhere that worked for someone?

You should post screenshots of how the card is identified.

    Hi,
The order I've done to make the flashing is: "nvflash -4 -5 -6 j filename.rom"
    with nVFlash 5.165,
I decided to flash the fx3600m because it was not recognized by my imac so it was impossible to boot. The origin of my approach is that link http://forum.netkas.org/index.php?topic=11099.0 but is performed on a 9800M GT, but Alaskastyle confirmed to me that with a G92 GPU core and same card structure as the original 8800M, it should work. So I tested. Everything seemed to work except for this problem QuartzGL / OpenGL
Please find attached screenshots of the OSX system report and the report of OpenGL Extension Viewer
    Thank you

    hmmm,

    very confusing

can you boot back into windows/DOS?

    it may not work anymore

If it does, do an nvflash -v and record the exact output here

did you save the original rom?

BTW, you can attach pix and roms here, that way they will stay here after your photobucket account closes
