    Hello Community,

I have a DELL U2713HM as my 2nd display to my iMac.
The Dell display has 2 USB ports which are not recognized by my iMac.
How can I make it work?

    Thank you

Have you connected the included USB cable (it would've come with the monitor) from the monitor to the iMac? It needs both the video cable, and the USB cable.

I have connect it with the Mini-Display-Port. If I connect it with the included USB cable I will lose one USB port.

    /Edit

Ok, I get it now. The included USB cable uses a different connection at the Dell Display.
WOW! Amazing! Again learned something today. Everything works fine now.

    Thank you.

You can't expect USB to work if you don't connect it to your Mac.

And you are not going to lose one port by doing it, as USB in and USB out is not the same shape/connector.

The "USB in" is #8 in the attached picture. Displayport does not carry USB.

Edit: you fixed it while I was replying :)
