iMac and ProTools Digi02

I'm buying a new iMac and will be also learning ProTools. I want to connect my ProTools rig to my surround sound amplifier. Does anyone here know the proper way to do this?

Protools LE won;t output into 5.1, you'll need HD for that.

Logic/DP4/Abelton and even Soundtrack Pro all output to 5.1 but not LE, oh no, that would be farrrrrr tooooo much to hope for wouldn't it Digi?🙄


As for connections, either go analog direct into the Stereo LR inputs, or use the optical buss (which I think the 002 supports).

You won't get 5.1 audio or a 5.1 mixing environment from LE, just stereo.

Yes, hook your 002's outputs to your amp, analog or digital doesn't make that much difference, it depends on the inputs on the amp.
