iMac as Display for MBP?

I found one thread on this subject, but it referenced using an old (Intel?) iMac.
However, I have inherited a newer M-Series iMac; I believe ~2023 variant.
Is there a direct way (without messing with 3rd-party hardware / software) to use that iMac is the primary display for my M4 Max MBP?
I suppose, right off the bat, the TB ports on the iMac are likely the limiting factor, right?

The only method without resorting to 3rd party for that iMac would be AirPlay to Mac

Gotcha, thanks. Kind of what I figured. Likely, not going to work, for my situation.
