Hi all! Long time reader (since mac rumors started basicly) first time poster.

I have an 20" Intel Core2Duo iMac and i was rewireing the electrical 2 days ago and when i switched power on there was a loud pop noise from the iMac. I smelled burned components from the top right of the mac. I redid the elecrtricity and the mac turned back on with no problems.

But we use this mac as a tv-out / sound-out solution and the sound didn't work at all. So i bought an external USB audio soundcard. Pluged it in and it worked! What i didn't test before celebrating was the video out. I tried that tonight and the apple component video out we use didnt work (apple dvi to svideo and composite dongle thingie). The S-Video does work, but i get lousy picture on the TV from this. So now i need a new solution for video out. (I have an old school CTR TV)

I figure fixing the iMac will cost around $1000. i spent $37 on the sound working again. Is there any way for me to get composite video out for a small sum of money?

Im a poor artist and i really do want to solve this cheaply.

Anyone out there have any insight? Or if you know of an USB/firewire tv out solution..?
