Imac, beep in OSX

did anyone have this, out of nowhere it just beeps...😕

hmm... more information? What were you doing at the time? Any other problems? 3rd party RAM?

mostly just browsing, messenger mac, ichat, mail, and photoshop opened,

those are the app i have on all the time.

some days its beeps like right now its not but yesterday like every 10 sec almost

its the beep sound of when you click somewhere thats not supposed to be clicked.

Could be from iChat.

Or that it's beeping to show that friends are coming in and out.

The best way to check it?

Log in as another user (make one if need be) and see if the beeping happens there.

Otherwise, reduce the apps you're using to bare bones, and then add one at a time and test until the beep appears.

What kind of beep? Not sure but on some PC motherboards a simple beep pattern could mean trouble.

its the alert sound its not a motherboard sound its a software sound

Ahh It most likely means you have new mail.

Are you still getting the beeps---I have the same problem. Very frustrating!

mine also beeps once about every 3 or 4 hours. it seems like its coming from near the CD Drive..
