iMac before or after WWDC?

The 17" 2.0 iMac G5 with the Superdrive has been tempting me since I got enough money to get it. What are the chances of any updates this close to the last revision during WWDC? I can get it this weekend or wait to the next. It's just so tempting...

Education Discount + Spring Discount = AWESOME DEAL
 
Buy it. There is a 1 in 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000... chance of it being updated. It was just updated a few weeks ago. Check the buyers guide on them ain page.
 
I say get it now.

The demand for them is already high and to update even just a small amount would get a big backlash I'd think from those who recently bought them.

WWDC should be for Powerbooks or iBooks. Maybe an iPod update too. But an iMac update would make no sense whatsoever.
 
Duff-Man says...c'mon...the iMac was just updated a month ago...there will be no update again so soon.....buy it if you have the money....and check the MacRumors Buyers Guide in the future for info on updates and when they have happened and when are (by previous history) most likely to be updated next...oh yeah!
 
Yeah, this will be my first Mac too. =P

I guess I'll be trying to get it this Sunday then. I'll call the local Apple Store to see if they have any in stock. They just need my student ID for the education discount. I do check the Buyer's Guide often. I'm just paranoid.

BTW I waited for the Rev B iMacs for quite some time and am 110% happy with my 20-inch Rev B iMac G5. Whenever they do update the current iMacs, trust me, you will still love your Rev B iMac. BUY BUY BUY!!

I was just thinking the same thing.
 
even though you said you're getting it this weekend, i'd personally wait - while the iMac is almost certainly not getting a refresh, you never know what will be announced that might sway your purchasing decision. and especially since it's only waiting 2 more days...

Oh man, go for it! I just bought a new 20" and I absolutely love it! The recent update was so rich that I doubt it would be topped anytime soon. You probably have about 6-9 months before another iMac update, unless of-course if they announce a 23" model or something.

Im waiting for the powermac...it will be more special to order it on the WWDC, but what do you mean about a sping discount...please reply...

I just need to print off a copy of that extra Spring Promo discount. I already have my UPC cut and ready for it. I just got my 17" iMac G5 and I love it. I'll be getting DSL in a week so I can update and download to my delight. Just one last question, does my Applecare cover upgrades that I purchase? I don't mind installing RAM myself but if they can do it...
