iMac: Buy Now or After MacWorld

what updates do you see in the future...a new chip, etc?
My parents want one they don't need the greatest but their going to have it until the thing basically blows up so i want them to have the greatest and latest....

I'm in the same situation. I just ordered a MacBook, but I need something a bit more powerful for the desktop so I figured a 20" iMac would be suitable. I'm not in deep need for a new computer, but my 19" CRT is in horrible condition (I do graphics work), and I don't want to buy a new screen as I'm going to buy an iMac.

So I don't know if I should try to manage with my current screen and the new MacBook and wait to see if there's a new model announced at MacWorld or if I'm just wasting time.
I've been wanting a black (or better a wine red) iMac as I don't like to have bright colors around the screen when doing graphics work or watching movies. Just don't know what the chances are of that showing up soon, or ever.
A better GPU would be nice as well.

Been giving it some more thought and I will probably go for the 24" version instead. The higher resolution would certainly be great for me. It comes at a price though, but I guess if I lower the VRAM to 128MB is can afford it. How much difference would that make for aperture and such applications? Is it possible to upgrade it afterwards yourself?
