Hi,

my iMac (27", i5, 16GB, Lion, new in June), crashed the other day, and I cant boot into Lion.

Using the driveutility in recovery mode I ran a diagnostic test and there were heaps of errors on the drive. Unfortunatly it could not be fixed, and I was suggested to rescue files and format the drive.

How can I get access to the files on my drive and transfer them ?

What type of errors are you getting? Maybe DsikWarrior could repair the hard drive. To answer you question, boot in target disk mode. You will need to connect the iMac via Firewire or USB to another Mac. Then copy off what you need.
