Imac Crashing Problem

Hi

Sorry if this has been covered before but I'm new to this forum but have owned an iMac of the past 12 months or so.

I have been having an issue were once every few days the iMac would crash, not a problem as I just rebooted.
However the problem has now escallated to it being every couple of hours and I need to try and fix it.

I wonder if any of the technical bods on this forum could give me some pointers.

Sorry if the answer is obvious to you guys but it's driving me nuts. :confused:

What do you mean exactly by "Crash"? Can you still move the mouse? Beach ball of death? Any graphical glitches? Fans running loudly?

You need to give more details.
 
Hi

I get the grey curtain effect and the black box with white text telling me to restart the Mac.

Mouse or keyboard do not respond, only thing I can do is press the start button on the rear of the screen.

Fans are not running faster than normal
