An Apple sales rep just told me BTO iMacs have a 30 days return window.

This is new to me and I cannot find it in writing anywhere, anyone else heard this?

Edit: They were mistaken, but that mistake could have cost me $4000+

Could this imply an ARM based iMac With imminent release? 30 day window would allow anyone that purchased an Intel iMac to make an exchange within the 30 day window

I somehow doubt it, just strange it's not written down anywhere online... you only see 14 days

Just spoke to another rep to confirm or deny and they said, NO it's 14 days. o_O

Talk about confusing

No. Apple isn't releasing a new ARM iMac until 2021. No way they do this refresh and then release a completely different model this year. Isn't happening.

I think they still would have let you return it past the 14 days. I returned a MacBook Pro last year that was at 25 days simply by telling them I wasn't able to get to a store or return it due to being out of town (which was true) and they were completely understanding and allowed it.

The question is when in 2021, January 2021? March 2021?

My bet would be 4th quarter of 2021. They didn't make these new iMac just to make them. They want to sell them and my guess is that it will be a year before we see an ARM iMac.

What about the fact that the 21 inch iMac wasn’t refreshed this year along with the new 27 inch iMac? 21 inch version didn’t even get True Tone.. no T2 etc.. what’s the counter argument to that? People aren’t buying the 21 inch model therefore Apple didn’t see a need to refresh it? Or perhaps there a new smaller than 27 inch iMac about to be released soon

Yeah that's definitely possible. Its a complete mystery at this point.
