After upgrading my fios modem/router, the ethernet port says "cable unplugged". All issues outside of the IMAC have been tested, ie cables, router ports, etc and are working normally. Wifi works fine on imac. Only thing that was changed was the router. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Try creating a new ethernet connection from system prefs / network...I had a similar issue a while back and that fixed it for me.

Boot into recovery mode and see if safari works - this would at least eliminate hardware issues.

Try removing the ethernet port from system prefs. Then quit. Trash the preference file. Reboot and add the ethernet port again.

This happened to me recently on my late 2013 model. I just powered it down and booted back up and the port started working again.
