What are you looking to emulate? Just MAME? SNES? NES? Sega Genesis/Megadrive? Scumm?

On the local hard drive. 😉

You'll have to use USB. This driver should be what you need.

A XBox360 controller is nasty. There is a guide to hook up SNES/NES/Sega controllers via USB, if you know how to solder. Alternatively there are non-genuine USB-equipped controllers on eBay for like $5.

Why not building a MAME cabinet?
