today i was at the MIT computer flea market. I found an imac g3 box with 10 dollars written on it.

i go look and the imac and everything else was there. i just got it home and everything is with it it has no scratches on it and its in mint condition!!!

it has been used before but judging by its condition very few times.

i was amazed at all the old macs at the flea market and the prices were not to bad.

In my neck of the wood we would call that a bargain. Anything else of interest which you could have brought???

they did have a powermac g4 in box but he wanted 300 and the box was beat up

i also got 4 airport cards for $100 and a numpad for my 512k for $3 lol

its a 500/256/20
The 500MHz and faster iMacs are actually pretty usable I think. My little brother uses a 600MHz snow every day, and I've got a 500MHz model in my garage. The price on the AirPort cards seems a bit high IMO, but it sounds like you did pretty well overall.

Recently here in New Zealand there was a "eDay" where people can dispose of old computer equipment they no longer want for recycling. Apparently someone took in one of the first iMacs with it's box, so the company sorting out the junk sold it along with some other valuable bits on the local auction website (not sure how much they got for the iMac) and gave the money to charity. :)

That's a pretty good deal for airport cards. I assume they are the original ones; a/b. Did you test them to make sure they are functional since you bought them, and/or would you be willing to part with any of them? Say, for the obvious price of $25? :D

I am jealous. Which is weird, cause I never go to flea markets, so it's not like that would ever happen to me.

Nice find! There's always something there to find if you look hard enough :). I haven't been there in a while (school/life/etc) but I should at least try to make the last one this year.
