You put the keyboard in the dishwasher? All I've ever done was pop the keys off and clean by hand slowly. I kind of find it relaxing/therapeutic/whatever you want to call it

Cleaned my Pro Keyboard under the faucet in the bath tub with some dish soap. Cleaned it amazingly, after a day or 2 of drying it worked fine.

I don't recommend you take apart the iMac. The CRT screen holds thousands of volts, which could lead to serious injury. i Think you can have someone drain the volts from it somehow. I recommend you look for a iMac case on eBay

G3 iMacs are safe to disassemble if you stay within the computer half. Even the CRT half is safe pending you discharge it. The CRT is easy to discharge once you read up on it. And driving older threads isn't always a good idea.

I just searched this thread and learned that you have finished the mod of iMac G3. Honestly, I am also making a similar mod but I am confronting with difficulty and I need your advise.

(1) About the power switch on the outer bezel, is yours functionable? Or your iMac only use the power switch on the keyboard?

(2) How did you extend the cables from your mac mini to the iMac housing?

(3) Is the headphone jack at the outer bezel functionable? How did you do that?

(4) Did you have details with pictures or words about how to mod this iMac? I want to use it as reference.
