i find it amusing that in the headline he states "NOT AN IMAC." He must get tons of responses saying "you know, that's an iMac right?"

I've actually never seen that machine either. I remember lots of really bad iMac copies, but I've never seen this one. To be honest, I think this one is the best "non-iMacs" I've seen.

Yeah ive seen that before.

Jesus ****ing christ it doesnt feel like 8 years ago. Thats scary. Im in my 20s and im feeling time pass already.

Oh well. Back to reliving britpop, Oasis CDs, and reading the big issue.

Could someone explain to me what that odd interface-mouse-weird-mutated-trackball-thing is? Never seen anything like it.

I guess it didn't catch on any better than the computer did. It is odd looking.

Come on guys

Yeah this is way old. Apple Actually Sued eMachines for copy right infringement or patent infringement, I forget which, and won. eMachine had to stop making the machine.

Man, I knew about this even before I owned an Apple or would even think of getting one.

humm... very original design. could it be anymore like the original imac yet look so so so bad? the changed are pretty minute but make it look so bad. personally i still think the original imac is a dammed fine machine and would love to get my hands on one of them! (hint hint if anyone is wanting to get rid of one!)

cMachines was lucky that Apple sued them, the law suit allowed eMachines to save face. Our local Costco sold those machines for a few weeks and every time I went there, I saw two or three people lined up at the return desk bringing them back 😀 😀 😀

I always wondered if the people bringing them back were fooled into thinking they were getting an iMac or knew they were getting windows and found out the machine even sucked at that.

Costco only had them for a couple of weeks and they disappeared - probably when they sent back all those returns they just loaded them all on the truck.

B*ll**ks - I've recently given away a Rev B Bondi iMac to my wifes best friend for her kids! Wonder if I can ask for it back... 😱

I've got a late 2001 graphite G3 iMac for sale if you want that instead. 600 MHz G3, 40GB HD, 512 RAM, CD-RW, all the original install discs, games pack that came with it, all in the original box.
