iMac G3 Tray Loading RAM Issues

Hi All,

Some of you might have seen my thread, iMac G3 Revival.

I am trying to get as much RAM as possible into my iMac, i have 2 256mb modules and a 128mb module, it reads both 256mb modules as 128 and the 128 as 64!

can anyone help me out? I've tried switching them round etc but nothing

What OS are you running? If you are running OS 9 or OS 8 I believe there are some ram limitations, but not sure i'm remembering correctly.

I'm running 10.4, it seems i may have high density ram but i don't know how to check :S

You need to check specs of your RAM sticks - see manufacturer's site.

that makes no sense to me what so ever xD

In datasheet of above chip is stated:

4Mbit x 4banks x 16 = 16x16 = high density

Arkious if you read the FAQ as I told you , you should know that you should buy low density rams
GO change those sticks and put that g3 rockin =) Good Luck =)

so what would low density be? 32mb x 8? how did u find that

yeah i know that from you, but i had to find out if the stuff i had was high or low density and what the difference was as I've never known the difference
