I just recently purchased a parts 800Mhz 17" imac G4 with a good neck ( whoever opened it up, broke the LCD connector on the motherboard). I haven't had time to check and see the current status of the machine though. All I know is that it powers on ,has memory , and no hard drive. My 17" imac G4 1Ghz has a loose/weak neck which I would like to swap with the 800Mhz. Would this be possible without dissassemble and reasssembling the neck on both and running the cables for the LCD? Are the TMDS connectors /cable the same for both?

Digging through my box of parts I found a mini-vga to VGA adapter. Now to test and see if the motherboard is good. Maybe I can set up the 800mhz as a headless imac if it still works.
