Hi I am looking at a iMac G4 20" 1.25 ghz
that has some problems I would like to hear what you guys might think is wrong I would like to point out I am pretty good with computerts and loooking for a project here is what the seller says about it.

"Computer powers up but does not chime, and nothing shows on the display. I can hear the hard drive spin up, and I can use get the DVD tray to eject, but no video."

----------

If the lcd is broken could I use a cinema display lcd for a replacement?
or could I mod a another lcd to work?

Dead graphics card. Pretty often issue in these iMacs with FX5200. Don't buy it unless it costs $10 or so.

Have you tryed resetting the PMU? Remove the bottom cover and located near the lower edge of the AirPort card connector.
With the unit not plugged in, push that button once. Then plug in the AC cord and press the startup button.
