iMac G5 2.0/20" iPhoto problem

My mom's iMac G5, seven months old, will not allow us to open iPhoto. I tried to upgrade with a genuine iLife 06 dvd, and it now will not open iPhoto. What gives?

Try repairing the permissions on your hard disc in disc utility

Does it give you any feedback when you try opening it (dialogue box or icon bounce or whatever)? Can it be opened from other user accounts? Does it get any further if you try rebuilding the library? 🙂

Haha, I probably should get an Intel machine but the iBook's still running strong and I've got the iMac for intensive stuff. 😛
