I own a year old iMac G5 (1.25gb RAM, 80gb HD, 1.8gb processor) and my problem is that I can't hear any audio on particular websites (ie. youtube, angryalien, abcnews), but I can hear the audio on other sites. I have Quicktime player, windows media player. I just reinstalled Macromedia Flash Player and restarted, but nothing changed for the better.

Head to Audio MIDI Setup in the Utilities folder and check that the Audio Output Format is set to 44100.0Hz. 🙂
