Hi,

I'm a Mac newbie and recently purchased my first IMac G5 off of Ebay. The computer will come with OS X 10.4, Tiger pre-installed. I would like to upgrade to Leopard. Which disc do I need to purchase in order to upgrade properly? As I understand it, the discs required are different for each model/type of Mac. Any insight you could provide into this matter would be very helpful.

If you wish, feel free to have a look at the auction:

Thank You,

Yes what the first response said is correct. Just go to apple.com and click on the store tab. You should be able to find leapord by doing some clicking around (I would provide a link but I am currently on my phone).

Also I see your new iMac only has 1gb of ram. I would highly suggest upgrading the ram to 2gb. Leapord will run a whole lot smoother.

Congrats on your mac!

You can find Leopard Retail DVDs(Make sure they are black) on ebay for around $50 on a good day.

Be sure to upgrade your memory to at least 1gb, 2gb preferably if/when you upgrade to Leopard. You will be glad you did.

Just checked your auction. You seem to have gotten a good deal on that, shipping shows $68 for me so hopefully you paid less :p. Also I didn't know they made a 1.9ghz? Was that a typo?
