Well after 3 years my iMac finally decided to crap out. I went through the steps on apples website and according to their information my logic board is toast. I've read that this can be a very expensive repair reaching over 900 bucks. I have a 17" MBP that I use at school but the iMac was my home computer. Im wondering if I should replace the logic board or just buy a new dam one for 1500.

Imo, you should just buy a new iMac, it would be about twice as fast as your G5.

I'd personally recommend looking at refurbs. Good deal. My iMac is probably getting replaced fairly soon also -- the logic board didn't go completely, though... just the SATA controller. I think in my case, though, my next computer will be something more like a Dell Studio, a Mac Mini, or an EeeBox on my TV.
