I have an Apple iMac G5 17" Desktop 80GB, 1.6 GHz, 768MB RAM, OSX 10.5.8. Leopard

I'm facing a problem whenever I try to insert an USB Flash memory. The usb appears for 8 seconds and then I get an 'Removal of Device' error.

It happens with any USB flash memory. What can I do to fix that situation?

Are you plugging directly into your computer? Does it happen with all USB ports?

Backup and try formatting this stick on another Mac or PC.
Who is the maker of the drive? Might also be a bad flash drive.

I did that, and it happens every time, with any brand. It is odd because I also tried with a brand new USB flash memory.
