Looks like I won't be waiting for the iMac refresh after all.

Okay, so my current '06 intel iMac gives me a message (in several languages) with a BIG power-button icon and tells me to restart. Problem is, this message keeps coming back when I restart.

Help.

that would be a kernel panic

basically your KEXT files (drivers) have errors

if you read into the error about line 20 or so it will tell you what process caused the error if you care to try and decipher the error message

best thing to do is a reinstall of the OS when this happens, then run software updates

make sure to choose an Archive and Install from the os disc if you are running 10.4 or 10.5.
10.6 will do this automatically for you
