Imac Good enough

This question probably has come up alot but I was fixed on getting a Imac until I read about mobile graphic cards, then I thought are I macs up to it??

I want to use it for after effects, premier, Photoshop (the creative suite)

this is the main bit, I am looking to maybe use 3d Max or maya and I have heard to render or use the 3d animation software you need alot of prcessing power

Any help will be useful

Obviously the iMac's graphics cards don't compare to desktop graphics cards, but it should still perform acceptably well running Adobe CS and various 3D applications.
