Imac HD question

This will be my first mac ever.
I'm going with the I7 3.4, base 4gb memory (+8gb from newegg)
Ati 6970 2GB memory


Shoul i pay 135$ to get the 2tb or should i wait for thunderbolt HD?

Will thunderbolt be as fast as an internal HD?
And since I'm new to Mac I usually use small hard drives for windows and other HD for stockage because I din't want to defrag all the time!

And for 135$ you can add more than 1tb external.

No need for that. Even my most used HDD only frag at around 0.5%.

And for 135$ you can add more than 1tb external.

If you don't need the additional 1TB now, wait until June, when the TB devices come to market. And there are also FW800 HDDs right now, but TB is the much better deal.
