iMac i5 or i7?

Hi,

I'm planing on getting a new 27inch iMac but I'm still not shure if I should go with the i5 or the i7.

I want to use Maya and XSI (is the i7 that much better for rendering?), Final Cut Pro, Photoshop,... and I also want to be able to play games like the Half life 2 episodes and episode 3 when it is released (via bootcamp).

Do you think the i5 has enough power for my needs or should I go with the i7?

All depends on the wallet, and what you want in accessories now.

what do you mean in accessories?

the question is if the hyperthreading of the i7 can have a negative impact on things like gaming
