How often do i7 2.93ghz iMacs appear on they US refurb store? Do the pop up relatively often?
No one really knows.
This site should help you out though.

Great link Hammer and Brandino!
Awesome link guys. Thanks!
I'll keeping checking over the course of the weekend. If nothing shows up I might pull the trigger from my music dealer (tax free). Only about $140 more than what I'd pay for the refurb+tax.
Still nothing. Bummer. I was hoping one would pop up over the weekend. I'm trying to decide how long to give it before I go ahead and pay Edu pricing instead, or get it tax free from sweetwater. It's basically $2079 (with a free printer) vs. 1899 (both + tax), or 2199 out the door from Sweetwater. I know I'd rather pay the 1899+tax, but the free printer for the edu price eases the blow a teensy little bit, I guess.
Patience is a virtue?
It sure is! The refurb store just filled up literally minutes ago. I pulled the trigger on my i7. psyched!
I'm eyeing that i7 with a SSD, but I'm not sure it's worth an extra $500. I suppose I've got a couple of weeks until I get my tax return to decide.
SSD is cool but I'm def waiting for prices on them to drop enough to take them out of luxury-item status.
Refurbished 27" i7 2.93 on the way!
I also bought a Refurbished i7 2.93 iMac Sunday night (Feb. 6th) and am very excited for it to be delivered tomorrow! I have been patiently waiting for the right time to buy and it just felt right.
I have been wanting to buy a monitor that could double as a TV for a bedroom media center to accompany my Macbook Pro 13.3 and bought a 27" LG Monitor TV Tuner on Saturday. I got it home, hooked it up and played with it for a day but all I could think about was the iMac and grew increasingly dissatisfied with my compromised decision. Granted, the monitor was pretty cool and only $380.00 but it was $380.00 that I could have put toward the shiny new iMac. I got up on Sunday morning and packed it up for return.
My plan was to save the $$ and wait for the next iMac release until I checked the refurb store at 8pm and saw the $1800.00 offer! This was only $180.00 difference from the education discount I would have received but it just felt right. Bummer that they don't offer the education discount on a refurbished item.
Now, Im starting to get concerned with the screen dust/fogging issues , the high pitched noises, vibrations, bad hard drives, countless trips back and forth to Apple... and I haven't even received it! LOL! reading these posts is enough to make a person paranoid.
Has anyone here purchased a refurb from the Apple store? any issues?
I'm expecting that it will be better than new since it's been back to the shop.
Oh, i also purchased an ElGato Eyetv Hybrid with the saved $$ to solve the TV need as I have read and seen great reviews. (although, it seemed completely overpriced compared to the competitions tuners).
any chance of the late 2009 2.8GHz i7 iMac coming back? that looked like a great deal for $1699 and i missed it just a few days ago!
Yeah. That piqued my interest for sure, but I'd had my sights set on the 2.93 for a while so I went for it. Nice score for whoever picked it up. Since it's a 2009, I doubt they get them often but who knows.
I never really "watched" the refurb inventory the way I have over the past week, but I might keep doing it for another week or two to see if there's any pattern to when it gets re-stocked. This past Sunday was a pretty big restock pretty much every category of Mac. Particularly the Mac Pros and iMacs. Both got a nice repopulation.
According to Refurb.Me, there was one available 24 hours ago.
that's the one i missed - it's no longer there
Hellhammer, does the late 2009 i7 support audio out over mini displayport? I've searched around and come up with conflicting answers.
According to Apple, it does.
What are the differences between the 2009 and 2010? Just specs?
Pretty much yeah. 2010 models have better CPUs (only slightly for high-end though) and better GPUs (10-20%). RAM is 1333MHz instead of 1066MHz but that is pretty negligible in real life. For 27", there is also the SSD option but I think that's pretty much it.
Looks like they have another 2.8 listed. Go get it!
argh! looks like i just missed it! but that's okay - gives me hope!
It's still there. For some reason, Refurb.Me does not redirect you to the right page, just the main refurb page.
Well, it's gone now. Hopefully he got it!
nope! i wish! i'll let everyone know if i do though
