Hi guys, I write for a "problem" this is the configuration of my iMac, I play Farming Simulator 2019 always with headphones, today playing without I noticed that the Mac fans after about ten minutes arrive at maximum speed, use mod and high settings, do you think it’s normal? HD ssd 1tb. Thanks👍🏻

I have reset smc as apple says, the "problem" seems to give me only with farming simulator, I should try with other photo editing programs for example

Yes, the thermals on the standard iMac are subpar for the current high temp running Intel CPU's.. the iMac Pro has much improved cooling but it has not made it down to the standard iMac yet

thanks for your time, I understand, I went from my old 2008 iMac to this and wanted to understand if it was "normal"

Sounds like par for the course. Even something as simple as Unigene Valley spikes up those temps on my 2014 imac. So farm simulator isn't to blame. You could try a few gamess in bootcamp-- see if the load is reduced.

Usually I cover up the hiss with music; though lately I've been playing Darkest Dugeon-- as far from AAA as you can get.

thanks for the help, now I'm a little more relaxed, it scared me slightly to hear the fans at the maximum🙂

I have the same iMac as the original poster, and when I run X plane 11 my fans also run at full speed. The noise does not bother me at all, and I try to keep my desk clean. My question is over time does this damage the fans or computer. I run istat pro and the temperatures are always in the "safe" range.
