Hello all! Having a pretty bad day.

Suddenly I get several error messages on my iMac. First one says that the index file for Mail is corrupt, then that my keychain file cant be found and then no applications start. The menu bar at the top is gone and finder keeps turning on an off (the little circle below the finder icon keeps disappearing)

I have no idea whats going on.

Could anyone help me please?

Also, as soon as I click on any applications at the bottom bar, "-program- quit unexpectedly".

Good news is that it seems to affect only this user though. When I login on my partners user, everything is fine.

So the error messages I get when I login are:
"Keychain not found. Keychain "login" cannot be found"
"Keychain not found. Keychain "login" cannot be found to stora registrationV1"

And on top of that, like I mentioned, nothing is working.

Rebooted in safe mode, did a reset NVRAM and now most of the things seem to work again.
Only thing now is the keychain which is still a bit messed up. I can't login to my iCloud account. I get the following message "Keychain "login" cannot be found to store "1046285****.""

I have keychain on another machine, all synced with iCloud so maybe I can just copy that library folder and drop on the iMac?

Tried the Keychain repair and verify functions and that seemed to have sorted it out. I have no idea what happened though...

Having serious issues with keychain. When I repair it creates a new file ending with rename in the keychain library folder. I get certificate errors, cant login... anyone knows whats up?

Try repairing the disk permissions in Disk Utility and reboot.
