What settings icon? Do you mean System Preferences, which is inside the Applications folder or can be found via Spotlight?

This iMac has lion. I just want to make it easer for me and my wife by adding an icon to the desktop to quickly access a web page.
.Wife uses Facebook all the time.

OK This is where I am now. I up loaded what I need from my PC onto a flash thingee and it all went into Finder.The first mistake I made was to install all om my pictures into IPhoto. It has been installing them since 3:00 this afternoon. I hope this is normal.
