I looked at the new 17" 1.9 iMac iSight at the local Apple Store. I downloaded Temperature Monitor Widget (Belkin). The store was kept very cool. I turned on the visualizer to large while opening up iPhoto, I also ran Nanosaur a few minutes. The cpu temp got up to 75C, which surprised me, not that different from my RevB. Mostly it was 70-75 when under some strain and 35-60 otherwise. The Hard Drive (Maxor) sensor seemed pegged at 50.5C no matter what I did, but I didn't have time to strain it. My RevB at home Smartdrive is usually between 57-60C, CPU usually 65-68C.

By the way, Temp Monitor registers a lot more sensors on the new iMac than on my Rev B. I was getting cpu, harddrive, several gpu (whatever that is). On my Rev B I only have HD, Smart drive, and CPU. Couldn't tell about the noise because of store ambiance.
