Imac issue white line on side of screen

I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix white line on one side of screen 2011 or 2012, 2013
What would cause this I want to bid on one on ebay.
I see alot with this issue.

It'd most likely need a new LCD, and probably wouldn't be worth doing on such an old model.

I don't think I would buy something on eBay that has an identified problem.

I wouldn't bid on anything like that.
Buy something that at least seems in full working order.

A white line on the LCD means the GPU is failing or the LCD is failing. The GPU requires motherboard replacement (not cheap) and a new LCD would not be a cheap fix either. Run away from this!

As noted, it would require a logic board or an LCD replacement and those will be many, many, many hundreds of dollars.
