iMac just Shipped but from CA ???

Had a few BTO's in my time but this is the first that I've taken notice that shipped out from CA is this normal? its a BTO Retina iMac.

If I'm not mistaken, retina iMacs are from the CA plant, along with the nMPs.

Some may be from China, but I'm not too sure about that.

AFAIK, from Day 1 with the riMac. iFixit's breakdown has several up-close images posted of their work. Assembled in the USA! My business partner was pretty jacked when he read that on the back. Many components still Made in China tho', of course.

The whole US thing is making a bit worried about quality control. I'm very anal if I see a single speck, nick, mark, or some sort of scuff mark it will go right back for an exchange. I hope this won't be the case but it does have me a bit concerned.

My RiMac came from China, not US...

My 5K iMac (BTO) came from CA, and so did my two nMPs (also BTO).

My BTO came this week from China - was expecting the U.S. It may because I live in Aus so (a bit) closer to China.

Interestingly it came from Shangai and not Shenzen.

I ordered on the 10th then it was shipped on the 14th. I also just went with free standard shipping.

Well folks heres an update. FedEx delivered my iMac yesterday and I'm a bit concerned because the guy was so careless with how he handled things that he decided to lift it and carry it up my apartment complex stairs and upon having it on his shoulder the box dropped in the parking lot before he made his way up the stairs. Do any of you think I should be concerned because it dropping?

I never had the time to open it up as of yet but this really had me a bit bothered when I seen it. I also had some choice words with him as well when he got to my door but at this point I'm a bit concerned that I could be expecting damage or do you folks think its fine?

I'll most likely be opening it up later on in the day today.

I think where you live also has a bearing. I'm in the UK and mine was a BTO from China.

Welp heres the update opened everything up only to discover a little black mark or scuff like nick near the ram access door and I figured no biggie I'm sure it can easily be wiped off. Well turns out it couldn't so as of this point the machine is now packed back up and ready to be sent off for an exchange.
