Hi Everyone,

As the title says, i'm having trouble with my iMac randomly rebooting. When it does i get the following message in a grey screen:

Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up.

After reboot IOS starts an error report which i'll post in the bottom of this message. I like to think of myself as pretty handy troubleshooting but this time i'm stuck as i can not decipher the error report. i'm quite sure it's a hardware issue, any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Actions taken :
  • Tried to run Apple hardware test to no avail.
  • Reinstalled the system trough backup partition. Retried to run AHT, no joy.
  • Downloaded El Capitan from app store.
  • Made bootable flash drive with disk maker X.
  • Removed partitions, formatted hard drive using disk utility.
  • Clean install El capitan with bootable usb, system still crashing
  • Installed OSX onto external usb drive, booted from usb drive. same story so it's probably not the HDD or software.

System specs :
Type : iMac 24" core 2 duo 3.06Ghz early 2009. 8 GB Ram and Geforce GT130 512MB.
Model : A1225 EMC2267/2134*
Serial : W89160JT250
Ordernumber : MB420LL/A
ID : 9,1
CPU : core 2 duo E8435
IOS : El Capitan 10.11.6

My knowledge ends at the analyzing crash reports, any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
I can post a couple of crash reports if that helps..

Since it's crashing with a clean install we ought to be able to assume it isn't software related.

You have two sticks of 4GB RAM in there so take one out and see if it crashes. If "no", then you can guess it's the RAM you removed. If "yes", put it back in, take the other out, and retest.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your input! I have just removed one the 4GB ram sticks/banks, i'll let you know what happens.
