My 2011 iMac has a really reflective screen which to me makes photos pop more. I since bought a 2015 Mac and I didn’t like the coating they put on,sort of a glazed coating which gave less pop so sold it,still have the 2011 and photos look great. Where does this screen fit in between those two,any idea?

We won't know until we get them in 2 days.

There are online videos on the unboxing of the iMac.

From what I understand, they did put an anti reflective coating on the glass, but I am hoping it's not that Staingate flavor...

iMac 27-inch Retina 5K 4.0GHz Quad i7 8GB/512GB M390 this was my imac i bought 2017,it definately had some sort of coating on compared to my present still 2011 mac,one of the imac 24 reviews yesterday said the screen was glossy so im wondering if its somewhere inbetween but like you say we wont know till infront of us but looking closely at my 2017 mac back then(I sold it after a few weeks because of the screen lol)it had when you looked closely what i call a sort of frosted appearence i didnt like and as i said the reflective glass gave more contrast to the photos.whatever is on the new one i am going to keep itt though.

just found this posted on apple support 2013 in response to complaint re the earlier imacs
The new iMacs are supposedly have 75% less glare than the previous generations.

Apple did this by bonding a thinner glass layer to the iMac's screen eliminating the tiny air space between the iMac's glass panel and the IMac's screen. Making the screen and glass one piece and virtually eliminating the glare.
