Have an m1 iMac that I bought new and got AC+ on. The 3 years is up in December and wondering whether to renew, and how much it is, and is it yearly, or how long can you get? I’m in UK.

I’ll be keeping it a while yet, as only for basic use, and it’s a BTO 16Gb as well, and trade in are poor (£285 😳) and tbh it’s enough for my needs for a few years yet I think.

Like most Apple stuff I’ve had anyway, been reliable, but very expensive to fix.

You should certainly extend AppleCare - a number of people using 24" M1 iMacs have had issues relating to he display - bottom third having lines and flickering - seems to occur after about 2 to 3 years - out of warranty repair in UK is over £600

Haven't read about this, didn't know, will research a bit. Is it all iMac M series or just the M1?

I don't use it much tbh, so wonder if would be later for me. Above states £35/year, which I find really cheap to cover, still can't find an Apple document to say this, but if so it's all worth it.

Think I've found the pricing, and it's not £35/year. That's for a Mac Mini. For an iMac it says £59/year, or £169 for 3 years.

If I had the M1 and planning on keeping it for longer, I would get the extension. There are reports of the M1 screen developing a nasty line which progresses to bands of line on the screen. Usually happens 2-3 years of ownership.

Thank's for link. Difficult to gauge how widespread it is, but not good if your one that effected.

The trade in is poor, so for what I need don't think it's worth upgrading anyway, mine is a BTO 16Gb so hopefully should last a while yet.

Just have to pay more Apple tax of £60/year suppose in case....
