iMac Mail Not Sending

So, I'm trying to send some messages through Mail, and its not working.

I have a gmail account, and through mail, I would write a new mail and once I hit the send button, it wouldn't send it.

On the bottom left corner, it just says "Mail Activity" Sending 1 of 3 messages, and it would have the loading bar going back and forth between 143-155 Kb/s.

It's just not sending. Why is this happening? I was able to send a message yesterday perfectly fine, but now its just messing up.

I need urgent help, please.

Also, when i click on Get Mail, it doesn't load anything. But when I go to gmail.com, I see that I have a new emails, but for some reason, it just doesn't load in Mail.

Has anyone else had this problem? :/
